Laura started her dance training at age 7 at the Northern Westchester Center for the Arts with Carrie Tron. Through various disciplines, among them ballet, Duncan technique, belly dance and ballroom dance, she began her love affair with movement. She continued to dance during her time at Brown University, where she earned her B.A. in American Civilization and Gender Studies. She was the co-director of Fusion Dance Company and a choreographer for Mezcla Performing Arts Troupe. Upon graduation, Laura moved to New York and continued to dance while pursuing a corporate career. After a few years, her full-time focus returned to her true passion, movement. Laura studied the classical Pilates method at True Pilates New York, home of Romana Kryzanowska’s Pilates. She completed her certification owing to the world-class instruction of master teachers such as Sari Mejia Santos, Cynthia Shipley, Jerome Weinberg, Anthony Rabara and Phoebe Higgins. Laura began teaching at Equinox and was promoted to manager of the Pilates studio at their flagship Columbus Circle location. After 2 exciting and informative years at Equinox, Laura returned to Providence to open her own studio. She brings her passion, knowledge and skilled eye to every individualized session at Rare Form Pilates.
